2024: Launch of a factory for the production of furniture velour for 5 billion rubles

In the Volodarsky municipal district of the Nizhny Novgorod region in October 2024, the first furniture velour factory in Russia was launched. The total investment in the project amounted to ₽5 billion. The presentation of the new production took place in the format of video conferencing with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The project was implemented by First Weaving Factory LLC with the support of the Industrial Development Fund and the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region on the territory of the advanced development of Volodarsk. The general director of the enterprise, Nadezhda Averina, said that over ₽3 billion were invested in the plant, and its production capacity is 11 million linear meters of fabrics per year.

The first furniture velour factory in Russia was launched with investments of 5 billion rubles

The new factory with an area of ​ ​ 26 thousand square meters. m includes a weaving workshop, a preparatory area, dyeing and finishing production, as well as warehouses for yarn, chemical materials and finished products. The level of localization of production reaches 90%. The company produces a wide range of products, including furniture velour, tulle, water-resistant and fire-resistant fabrics.

The Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin noted that various support measures were actively used in the implementation of the project, including within the framework of national projects. In particular, a concessional loan of the Federal Industrial Development Fund in the amount of ₽1,5 billion was attracted.

The company plans to occupy up to 30% of the market in its segment and provide domestic manufacturers of furniture, special clothing and aircraft manufacturers with high-quality fabrics. The main customers are large manufacturers of furniture and mattresses in Russia.

The project is supported by the Development Corporation of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and became the first participant in the program to reduce energy costs using gas piston power plants.[1]
