Completion of merger with NanoGym

Start-up Fitbase, which develops a service to automate the management of fitness studios, bought the rival NanoGym system. Receiving 20 million rubles from the Innovation Assistance Fund

FitBase on August 16, 2022 announced the receipt of 20 million rubles from the Innovation Assistance Fund. The grant was dedicated to developing an intelligent decision support system using machine learning and big data analysis technologies that will be able to predict revenue based on customer behavior and recommend ways to increase it. This is the first solution for managing fitness clubs using artificial intelligence in the Russian market.

FitBase is a digital ecosystem for players in the fitness services market that includes CRM, an accounting system, an online recording widget for the site and social networks, mobile applications for customers and coaches.

The grant funds will be used to refine the intelligent system for managing business performance. Within the framework of the project, cluster analysis algorithms (the closest neighbors method), filtering and neural networks will be used.

The decision support module will analyze the behavior of customers, the results of marketing activities, seasonality ratios, changes in demand for services, the density of visits to the club and other key indicators of the fitness facility. The obtained data and their systematic analysis will make it possible to predict the points of growth of each specific institution, showing the strengths and weaknesses of management, adjusting the setting of tasks by departments, indicating possible changes in marketing and service activity. Of course, the introduction of artificial intelligence into management will lead to a change in the key performance indicators of the company, which invariably affects revenue. For analysis, data that already exists in the system and mobile FitBase applications on the user's side will be used - information about customers, their visits and purchases, the history of touches with each of them throughout the entire interaction period.

The artificial intelligence system will be able to recommend to fitness clubs the timing and audience for launching marketing activities, changing strategy and positioning, adjusting pricing policy. Thus, AI will be able to calculate the probability of season ticket extensions depending on the price change. At the same time, the system will automate the implementation of part of the solutions. For example, if you need to control the payment for the services of a specific client, then the recommendation will automatically turn into a task for the administrator.

Our solution is designed for both large fitness clubs and small specialized studios. There are many formats on the market - gyms, stretching and yoga studios, crossfit clubs, bicycle schools, swimming pools, children's sections and many others. The behavior of customers and the features of the business in each niche are very different from each other, making each object special. It is impossible to apply the same algorithms to everyone, and our task is to preserve the individuality of the work of each sports club or studio, to give them the opportunity to be financially successful in the market, regardless of how different business processes they use in their work. Machine learning and big data analysis technologies will help us adapt the intelligent system for the business of each club, regardless of its specialization and size, "said Vasily Suvorov, founder of FitBase.

The system will compare the indicators of each object not with the average values ​ ​ in the market, but with its own results, note successes and failures, give recommendations on how to equalize the situation. Users of the cloud service will be able to use the new functionality immediately as the functions are connected, since the data necessary for analysis has already been accumulated in the system.

The average life expectancy of a small fitness studio for August 2022 is one and a half to two years. Often they are opened by coaches who do not have much experience in business management and it is difficult for them to effectively build processes, and most importantly - to respond in a timely manner to the changes that are taking place. After all, business really poses difficult tasks, for example, why revenue falls without changing the number of purchased subscriptions. Now FitBase will tell them exactly where the changes are needed and how to fix the situation. We hope that thanks to our intellectual system, there will be more successful studios, and the owners will be able to do more work on staff development and service tasks, although most of them have already been automated by our program, "said Anastasia Gulyanina, director of development at FitBase.

The intelligent decision support system consists of separate blocks, some of which have already been implemented. She knows how to segment customers by behavior, predict revenue, determine the trend for additional expenses of each client. The implementation of all the planned functions will take about two years. Of course, the project will require the expansion of the team at the expense of ML and back-end developers, which is necessary to implement the tasks of this volume.
