The SPECTRUM Group of Companies considers its birthday to be May 6, 1964, when the Introscopy Research Institute (NIIIN) was founded. In the late 80s of the last century, the Institute was incorporated and in April 1993, the Moscow Scientific and Production Association "SPECTRUM" (MNPO "SPECTRUM") was created on the basis of NIIIN.

In 2019 the shareholders made the decision to unite all subsidiaries and brands of JSC MNPO SPEKTR and NIIIN the uniform name SPEKTR Group of Companies (SPEKTR Group), having divided them into 4 Divisions on activities. The Board of Directors manages the SPECTRUM Group of Companies, whose priority goal is to strengthen and develop existing divisions, as well as to find and open new most promising business areas in Russia and abroad.
