The ICT function of maintenance of activity of Central office of Rosstat - maintenance of IT infrastructure and operation of software providing collecting and processing of statistical data is assigned to GMTs of Rosstat.

The most part of a computer hardware and the software of Rosstat after purchase is automatically put into operation of this federal state unitary enterprise, providing permanent development of its material and technical resources.

History

1932: Creation of the 1st Moscow factory of the mechanized account

In pursuance of the government decree of August 28, 1931 the board of Central office of economic accounting of the State Planning Committee of the USSR adopted on February 29, 1932 the resolution on the organization based on Technical and statistical consolidation at TsUNHU of the State Planning Committee of the USSR of the 1st Moscow factory of the mechanized account. It executed by any machine method of development of accounting and statistical and calculating works of mass character by orders of separate departments. In parallel with accomplishment of the mechanized developments according to the statistics for the central statistical body the 1st factory of the mechanized account and its branches performed the current work on mechanization of statistical developments for statupravleniye of RSFSR, Moscow and the Moscow region and also all centralized censuses.

1957: Central computing station

In 1957 the Central computing station of the Central statistical office of TsMSS TsSU USSR for uniform technology processing of statistical information on areas, edges, autonomous republics and on the national economy is created. Centralization of development of statistical reporting of the enterprises and organizations of a number of the leading industries of the national economy began.

1958 - 1987

• In 1958 TsSMS TsSU USSR for carrying out the All-Union population census is created.

• 1964 the 1st Moscow factory of the mechanized account is combined with TsSMS TsSU USSR which finished development of materials of the All-Union population census of 1959. The organization is called TsSMS TsSU USSR. The TsSU RSFSR computing station is created.

• 1967 Is created Computer center of TsSU USSR based on TsSMS for development of materials of the All-Union population census and other censuses and inspection and also works on the national economy. The MCC TsSU RSFSR is reorganized into Republican computer center of TsSU RSFSR.

• 1968 of TsMSS TsSU USSR it is transformed to TsSU USSR Major computer center for preparation and release of urgent and current statistical reporting, annual and one-time works.

• 1975 Computer center of TsSU USSR is transformed to the Central computer center of TsSU USSR.

• 1981 the Central and Main computer centers were united in the uniform computing organization - TsSU USSR Major computer center.

• 1987 Due to the formation of the State committee of the USSR according to the statistics, GVTs TsSU USSR is renamed into Major computer center of Goskomstat of the USSR. RVTs TsSU RSFSR is renamed into Major computer center of RSFSR.

1992: GIVTs of Goskomstat

In 1992 the Major computer center of Goskomstat of the USSR transferred to the jurisdiction of Goskomstat of RSFSR is renamed into the Main information and analytical computer center (GIVTs) of Goskomstat of Russia. The major computer center of Goskomstat of RSFSR is renamed into Major computer center of Goskomstat of Russia.

1994 Is created Computer center of the State committee of the Russian Federation according to the statistics based on the Main information and analytical computer center and Major computer center of Goskomstat of Russia.

1997 Computer center of Goskomstat of Russia is renamed into the Main interregional center of processing and dissemination of statistical information of the State committee of the Russian Federation according to the statistics.

2005: GMTs of Rosstat

Federal State Unitary Enterprise the Main interregional center of processing and dissemination of statistical information of the State committee of the Russian Federation according to the statistics (GMTs of Goskomstat of Russia) is renamed into Federal State Unitary Enterprise the Main interregional center of processing and dissemination of statistical information of Federal State Statistics Service (GMTs of Rosstat).
