2022: UTair sold 91.08% in Helisur

The airline UTair"" sold a helicopter operator from Peru Helicopters del Sur S.A. (Helisur). The Russian carrier announced this in its reports on, IFRS which was published in early May 2024.

As Interfax notes with reference to the materials of UTair, the company withdrew from Helisur's capital back in June 2022. It is not specified who bought the 91.08% stake owned by UTair.

As a result of the sale of a 91.08% stake in Helisur to a related party, the Group recognised a gain on disposal of a subsidiary of RR 1,608,179 thousand and deregistered a non-controlling interest of RR 832 thousand. The expected refund in cash is 929,489 thousand rubles, - says the reports of UTair, excerpts from which are provided by the agency.

It also follows from these materials that from January 2022 until the release of UTair from among the owners of Helisur, the contribution of the Peruvian company to the group's revenue amounted to almost 500 million rubles (the total amount of revenue for the first half of 2022 is 36.8 billion rubles), to net profit - more than 526 million rubles (with a total profit of 5.3 billion rubles).[1]

2009

In 2009, UTair announced the purchase of Helisur, Peru's largest helicopter operator at that time (operated 11 Mi-8 and Mi-171 helicopters), as well as the associated service company Aviacion del Sur S.A. Thanks to this deal, the Russian airline hoped to expand the geography of helicopter operations on the American continent. In addition, UTair spoke about its intentions to conclude contracts for work in Chile, Brazil, Colombia and Bolivia. How much UTair cost to buy Helisur in 2009 was not reported.
