The non-profit partnership "Hydropower of Russia" is the only professional association of hydropower in Russia. The main objective of the activity of NP "Hydropower of Russia" is to improve efficiency and reliability of the hydropower complex of the Russian Federation by coordinating the activities of hydropower enterprises, coordinated solution of emerging problems and representation of the interests of the industry at the state and international level. Currently, the Partnership includes the largest companies in the country operating hydroelectric power plants, such as RusHydro OJSC, Irkutskenergo OJSC, Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Plant OJSC, Generating Company OJSC, Yakutskenergo OJSC, Boguchanskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant OJSC and others. The Partnership operates 70 hydroelectric power plants in Russia.
History
2025: RusHydro canceled the construction of the Mogokh hydroelectric power station in Dagestan for 14 billion rubles
RusHydro refused to build the Mogokh small hydroelectric power station in Dagestan, explaining its decision by the economic inefficiency of the project. This was announced in November 2025 in the press service of the company. The company won the competition for the construction of a 49.8 MW station in 2021. For 15 years of payback, planned revenue was estimated at 20.3 billion rubles. at 2021 prices, but since then, economic parameters have changed significantly.
