2025: Creating a Cluster

Karelia has created an IT cluster focused on comprehensive automation. timber industry complex Russia The core of the association is made up of leading technology companies of the republic. Developers create domestic software for the industry that replaces imported solutions. The cluster will help consolidate the efforts of developers, the scientific community and timber manufacturers to create complex domestic products. This was announced by the organizing committee of the Lesprom IT conference on October 1, 2025.

According to TASS, the cluster includes the companies "Neosistemy Severo-Zapad LTD," "Opti-soft" and the IT park of Petrozavodsk State University. The association of technology companies is created to reduce the dependence of the Russian economy on foreign software. The Lesprom IT conference on the digitalization of the forest industry will be held from October 8 to 10, 2025 in Petrozavodsk.

Karelian developers have the opportunity to scale their solutions and turn them into industry standards. The formation of a cluster for the republic means securing the status of an IT competence center in the forest complex. The project will attract investments in the region and ensure the creation of highly qualified workplaces. The concentration of expertise will speed up the development of new technological solutions for timber enterprises.

Products of Karelian companies are introduced at enterprises in other regions of the country. The company "Neosistemy Severo-Zapad LTD" implemented projects for Tomlesdrev in the Tomsk region. The developer also worked with the Svetogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill in the Leningrad Region. The Opti-Soft system associated with the production of corrugated cardboard is used in the Arkhangelsk and Perm regions.^[1]
