2020: Imperva purchased jSonar
At the beginning of October, 2020 Imperva announced acquisition of jSonar company. Participants of the transaction decided to leave financial conditions in confidentiality.
According to the statement of Imperva, this acquisition will allow it to implement "the innovation and impudent approach to data protection at all levels, including local, cloud, multicloud and Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS)".
The Imperva company will integrate the own software solution Data Security with jSonar technologies that should simplify detection of databases, classification of confidential data, detection of vulnerabilities and security management. Analytics jSonar and the Security Orchestration platform, Automation and Response (SOAR) will also be integrated with offers of Imperva.
One of founders of jSonar, RON Bennatan holding a post of the technical director of a startup after closing of the transaction will head the Data Security direction which will include products both jSonar, and Imperva.
According to the ZDNet edition, commenting on sale of jSonar as business departs from traditional local products and accepts different modern architecture of data and cloud environments, data protection becomes difficult and often a labor-consuming task for IT specialists. Thanks to developments of jSonar the Imperva company hopes to solve a problem.
