2025: Co-owner of Pharmstandard Viktor Kharitonin bought Kotlas Chemical Plant

In mid-January 2025, it became known that Ogment Investments Limited, owned by co-owner of Pharmstandard Viktor Kharitonin, acquired 99.9% in KHZ-Management LLC, which owns the Kotlas Chemical Plant in the Arkhangelsk Region.

According to Kommersant, together with the plant, the KHZ-Service trading company came under the control of the businessman. Previously, these assets were owned by Irina Dobrokhotova and Pavel Akhmadeev, respectively.

Co-owner of Pharmstandard bought Kotlas Chemical Plant, which produces paints and varnishes

The Kotlas Chemical Plant, built in 1978 as a division of the Kotlas Pulp and Paper Mill, produces paints and varnishes for food cans, chemicals for oil and gas companies and products for road construction. The total production capacity of the enterprise is 70 thousand tons per year.

Forbes estimates Viktor Kharitonin's fortune at $6.9 billion by January 2025. The businessman owns shares in pharmaceutical companies Pharmstandard, Otisipharm, Biocad and Generium, which produce drugs such as Afobazol, Arbidol and Complivit.

In 2024, the entrepreneur also sold the Kama pulp and paper mill to Sveza for ₽47 billion, previously acquired from Trust Bank for ₽36 billion. In 2022, his attempt to buy Syktyvkar LPK from Austrian Mondi for ₽95 billion did not receive approval from the government commission.

NEFT Research consulting partner Alexander Kotov notes that the acquisition of the Kotlas chemical plant is a strategically profitable solution, given the steady demand for oil field chemistry and the prospects for the development of the company's sales markets.

Experts predict growth in the fields of oil field, road construction and the production of paints and varnishes due to the implementation of state programs in the construction industry.

According to the latest available financial statements, the revenue of the Kotlas Chemical Plant for 2021 amounted to ₽2,4 billion.[1]
