2023: Lab Launch
The European Medical Center (EMS) launched an independent Lab360 diagnostics service in December 2023, opening the first test collection point. The decision to develop this industry was made after the acquisition in 2022 of the distributor of equipment for laboratories and medical consumables Astra-77.
The first testing point is located in Moscow, in the EMS perinatal center. The company confirmed to Kommersant that the office in the perinatal center will become a pilot location for testing the service.
80% of Lab360 belongs to the EMC-Holdko EMS structure. Veniamin Dergunov became the general director of the company after the acquisition. According to Maria Kolomentseva, a consultant to Eqiva, investments in the opening of the fence point ranged from 4 to 15 million rubles, depending on the level of equipment and the necessary repairs.
According to the owner of the laboratories Lab4U Valery Savanovich, the market for online sales of laboratory services is very competitive and, taking into account the price segment in which EMS operates (premium), they may have problems attracting customers. The niche for passing analyzes is already occupied, and customers are accustomed to performing these actions in a convenient format for them - territorial and price, says Maria Kolomentseva. It will be difficult to squeeze out the already entrenched companies. The laboratory audience can be EMS customers, as the laboratory can maintain a high standard of service.
EMS is not the first private clinic network to develop a medical testing business. Medsi The "" and the network of clinics "" already have their own network of laboratories. Mother and child The industry is beginning to recover after falling revenue on the decline of the coronavirus pandemic. COVID-19 The Labquest medical laboratory estimates the potential revenue growth rate at 5-7% per year, and the patient flow will grow by 1-1.5%, which is close to pre-pandemic indicators.[1]
