Rigla took control of Metropolitan Pharmacies
The Moscow pharmacy chain Metropolitan Pharmacies came under the management of Rigla on a long-term lease. 62 pharmacies have entered the network. Of these, one is rebranded in Rigla, the rest work under the sign of Zdravsiti Pharmacy. This was announced in December 2025 by Sergey Kovalev, Deputy General Director for Development of AS Rigla. According to him, this is the implementation of a strategic course to scale the company's business. The deal allowed to increase the network's share in the capital market to 12.5%.[1]
Former vice-president of Transneft Mikhail Arustamov bought a stake in the Metropolitan Pharmacies network
At the end of May 2025, it became known that the former first vice-president of Transneft and co-owner of the shopping centers "Gimenei" and "Yakimanka, 26" Mikhail Arustamov acquired a 50% stake in the Cypriot Huduma Limited. The company is the owner of Spin Group LLC, the sole founder of Metropolitan Pharmacies. The deal was completed in December 2024.
According to RBC, the connection between Metropolitan Pharmacies and Spin Group LLC is recorded in the explanatory note to the annual financial statements of Metropolitan Pharmacies for 2023. The document was posted in SPARK-Interfax in March 2024.
Spin Group LLC was registered in 2015. The sole founder of the company is the Cypriot Huduma Limited. The share in the latter company sold to Mikhail Arustamov was previously owned by Doreno Limited, registered in the Seychelles.
The remaining 50% of Huduma Limited was retained by Crosscooper Holdings Inc of. Belize Thus, the businessman became a co-owner of the structure controlling the Moscow pharmacy chain.
As the newspaper notes, the participation of Mikhail Arustamov in the transaction is confirmed by the data of the extract of the trade register of Cyprus. As a contact address, the businessman indicated the address on the street de la Cloche in Geneva. The street is located in the PACS district, which is located next to Lake Geneva.
The Metropolitan Pharmacies network was founded in 2005 and united about 300 state-owned pharmacies and drug wholesale enterprises in various districts of Moscow. The original founder was the metropolitan department of city property.[2]
