The Rigla pharmacy chain was founded in 2001 and is part of the Protek Group of Companies.

As of September 30, 2016, the chain consisted of 1705 pharmacies in 47 regions of Russia, 20 thousand assortment items.

2025: BNPL Implementation

The Rigla pharmacy chain has introduced the BNPL service ("buy now - pay later") for online users, which allows you to split the payment for the issued order into parts. The network announced this on January 28, 2025.

At the first stage of the project, the possibility of buying drugs in installments became available on the website and in the mobile application rigla.ru. With the help of the service, you can purchase over-the-counter drugs, as well as products of the Parapharmaceutical category and receive them by self-delivery in pharmacies of all brands of AS Rigla, operating in 74 regions of the country.

BNPL functionality is implemented on the basis of Split from Yandex. The service allows you to split the order amount into two, four or six months. For the user, the service is free and is not a loan. There is no minimum order amount to pay in instalments.

Such a service has not yet been widely used in pharmaceutical online retail, unlike the FMCG market. However, even during the test period, we were convinced that it is in demand by users - especially if the client needs to buy medicines of a high and even medium price category. According to the results of four weeks since the introduction of BNPL, the average check of orders with the form of payment in parts increased by 110%, - said Boris Popov, General Director of AS Rigla.

At the next stage, it will be possible to pay for prescription drugs using the service - the corresponding integration work will be completed in February, the company explained. At the beginning of the second quarter, BNPL is planned to be implemented on the Zdravsiti health marketplace.

We predict a positive economic effect from the implementation of this service. We associate it not only with the growth of the average check, but also an increase in the total number of repeated purchases - by about 23% by the end of the year. In addition, BNPL is becoming an important service component of modern retail. History

2025: Purchase of 32 pharmacy chains in the Far East

Rigla LLC received approval from the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia for the purchase of 32 pharmacy chains in the Far East. This became known on February 20, 2025. In three regions, the regulator agreed on transactions with special regulations aimed at maintaining competition.

According to Interfax, the pharmacy chain plans to expand its presence in the following regions:

• Republic of Buryatia.
• Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
• Trans-Baikal Territory.
• Kamchatka Territory.
• Primorsky Territory.
• Khabarovsk Territory.
• Amur Region.
• Sakhalin Oblast.
• Magadan region.
• Jewish Autonomous Region.

In the Kamchatka and Khabarovsk Territories, as well as in the Sakhalin Region, the company will occupy a dominant position after acquiring 16 local pharmacy chains. The FAS issued instructions to maintain competition in these markets.

According to the terms of the antimonopoly service, Rigla must ensure that there are at least two trade names of drugs for each international non-proprietary name from the minimum range of drugs. The company is also obliged to work with suppliers on non-discriminatory terms.

In case of violation of the instructions, the FAS reserves the right to go to court to invalidate the transactions. Rigla, part of the Protek group of companies, as of mid-2023 managed more than 4 thousand pharmacies in 74 regions of Russia, including franchise outlets. The company's revenue in 2023 reached ₽58,3 billion.^[1]

2024

Buying a network of pharmacies "Norma"

Purchase of several pharmacy chains in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow region and Nizhny Novgorod region

On October 18, 2024, it became known that Rigla, which is part of the Protek group, acquired several pharmacy chains in various Russian regions at once. The relevant transactions were agreed with the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation.

We are talking about the purchase of 99.9% of shares in the authorized capital of Prime Farm LLC, Pharmacy 52 LLC, Foest Pharmacy LLC, Solo Farm LLC, Nizhny Novgorod Pharmacy Network LLC, First Pharmacy LLC, Pharmacy 24 LLC, Vita + LLC, Pharmacy 78 LLC, Premier Farm LLC and Prima Farm LLC. These networks are located within the geographical borders of Moscow and St. Petersburg, the Republic of Mari El, as well as the Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Moscow, Kaluga and Kirov regions.

FAS agreed on the acquisition of Rigla LLC of a number of regional pharmacy chains. As a result of the analysis of the transaction, the service found that in none of these regions will Rigla LLC occupy a dominant position, the regulator said in a statement.

As part of the deal, Rigla became the owner of legal entities that manage 375 pharmacies under the Farmani and Pharmacy brands. In particular, 247 pharmacies were purchased in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 37 in the Vladimirskaya region, 36 in the Moscow region, 24 in the Republic of Mari El, 20 in the Kirov region, 8 in St. Petersburg and 3 in the Kaluga region. Thanks to this, the total number of pharmacies of the Rigla chain in the listed regions increased by 25%. It is expected that the deal will allow the company to significantly strengthen its position in the Nizhny Novgorod region: here Rigla plans to increase its share to 18%. In addition, the share of the network in the Republic of Mari El will increase 3.5 times, in the Kirov region. It is emphasized that the brands Farmani and Pharmacy are distinguished by a loyal customer base, as well as high standards of corporate culture.^[2]

Purchase of the network "Pharmacies Minicen"

In early October 2024, it became known about the sale of the combined network "Pharmacies Minicen" and "New Pharmacy," which includes 282 points in the region. It is bought by Rigla. Read more here.

On August 9, 2024, it became known that the Rigla pharmacy chain, which is part of the Protek group of companies, completed a major acquisition of the Nizhny Novgorod Pharmacy Chain company, which owns 375 pharmacies under the well-known brands Farmani and Pharmacy. Purchase of 15 pharmacies from the Narodnaya Apteka chain

Rigla bought points of the St. Petersburg network Narodnaya Apteka. This deal became known in mid-March 2024. Rigla acquired 11 pharmacies of the Tver chain Pharmacy - Management

Rigle beauty cosmetics chain launch "

In February 2022, the Rigla pharmacy chain opened the Rigla beauty beauty store. It is located in Pushkin in the Moscow region.
