2023: Rigla acquired Trick Pharma

At the end of June 2023, it became known that Rigla LLC, fully owned by Vadim Yakunin's Protek group, entered into an agreement on the acquisition of the Trick-Pharma pharmacy chain in Krasnodar.

According to the Vedomosti newspaper, under the terms of the contract, Rigla will receive 99.99% of its shares in Trick-Pharma. The remaining 0.01% will belong directly to Protec. Prior to this, Trick Pharma belonged to Alexander (50.3%) and Olga (16.53%) Kazakevich, as well as Oleg Poklad (33.17%). According to SPARK-Interfax, the deal was closed on June 22, 2023. The amount of the asset is not reported. According to market participants, we can talk about more than 85 million rubles.

"Trick Pharma" was founded in 2010. In Krasnodar, five pharmacies operate under this brand (by June 2023). In turn, Rigla unites about 3,700 pharmacies in 58 regions of Russia. The network points operate under the brands "Be Healthy," "Rigla," "Zhivika" and "Zdravsiti Pharmacy."

The purchase of a small Krasnodar network will allow Rigle to continue its policy of regional expansion, but with less risks, said Nikolai Bespalov, Development Director of RNC Pharma. Rigla's decision to strengthen its position in the Krasnodar market may be due to the fact that now it is one of the most attractive regions for business, says Sergey Shulyak, CEO of DSM Group. According to him, recently internal migration has been more and more actively manifested in Russia - people from Siberia and the Urals are moving to Krasnodar, Moscow, St. Petersburg, the expert explained.

Vedomosti, referring to the statements of Sergey Kovalev, Deputy General Director for Development and Infrastructure of Rigla, notes that the acquired pharmacies will operate in the Zdravsiti Pharmacy format - the rebranding is planned to be completed by the end of August 2023. After the deal closes in the Krasnodar Territory, Rigla will operate 71 pharmacies under the Rigla, Zdravsiti Pharmacy and Be Healthy brands.

At the moment, the points are integrated into the business processes of Rigla, at the final stage - the introduction of corporate standards, - said Kovalev at the end of June 2023.[1]
