2023: Rigla acquired the Pharm chain

The Pharm chain, which has 31 pharmacies (mainly in Ussuriysk), was sold to Rigle. The deal became known on August 16, 2023.

According to Kommersant, citing data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Rigla became the owner of 99.99% in Pharm LLC, the remaining 0.01% went to the Proteku group (Rigla is part of it). Financial and other parameters of the transaction are not disclosed.

Pharm network sold to Rigle

DSM Group CEO Sergei Shulyak estimates the value of Pharma at 100-150 million rubles. excluding real estate and possible coefficients, for example, for market share or asset quality.

The Primorsky pharmacy chain used to be owned by the deputy of the Ussuriysk City Duma Yuri Shandre and his family. The SPARK-Interfax system has information that he owns the Centroptica optics salon in Ussuriysk, a share in the Medpharm multidisciplinary medical center and the OpticPharm salon.

This is not Rigla's first deal in 2023. In June, the company acquired Trick-Pharma, which includes five Krasnodar pharmacies. In recent years, the company has been neatly expanding its geography: it is buying small networks for new regions, Nikolai Bespalov, Development Director of RNC Pharma, told the publication in mid-August 2023.

Shulyak notes that purchases of pharmacy chains in 2023 have decreased, although leading companies, as before, are interested in M & A. According to Bespalov, one of the reasons is the reluctance of buyers to offer amounts exceeding two to three monthly turnover, and this price is not suitable for chains considering the possibility of sale. In addition, when buying, there is always a risk of loss of efficiency associated with the integration process. That is why separate transactions are carried out regarding assets already well known to the buyer that help solve certain^[1] problems^[2]
