Ministry of Social Protection of the Republic of Karelia

The Ministry of Social Protection of the Republic of Karelia (Ministry of Social Protection of the Republic of Karelia) is the executive authority of the Republic of Karelia, which conducts state policy and performs functions in the spheres of social protection and social services of the population, the activities of guardianship and guardianship bodies, and the prevention of juvenile neglect in the Republic of Karelia^[1].

History

2017: Transformation into the Ministry of Social Protection of the Republic of Karelia

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Karelia dated September 26, 2017 No. 326-P "Issues of the executive authorities of the Republic of Karelia"^[2] The Ministry of Social Protection, Labor and Employment of the Republic of Karelia was transformed into the Ministry of Social Protection of the Republic of Karelia.

The functions of the Ministry of Social Protection, Labor and Employment of the Republic of Karelia are transferred to:

• to the created Department of Labor and Employment of the Republic of Karelia (in the field of labor, labor protection, promotion of employment and labor migration in the Republic of Karelia);
• to the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Karelia (in the field of organizing recreation and health improvement of children);
• to the Administration of the Head of the Republic of Karelia (in the field of providing citizens with free legal assistance).

2016: Transformation into the Ministry of Social Protection, Labor and Employment of the Republic of Karelia

In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Karelia dated April 21, 2016 No. 151-P "Issues of executive authorities of the Republic of Karelia" the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Republic of Karelia was transformed into the Ministry of Social Protection, Labor and Employment of the Republic of Karelia^[3].

2014: Activities of the Ministry of Labour and Employment of the Republic of Karelia

The Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Republic of Karelia is the executive body of the Republic of Karelia that carried out the state policy, management, coordination of the activities of other executive bodies of state power of the Republic of Karelia in the field of labor, labor protection, promotion of employment and labor migration within the framework of its powers in the Republic of Karelia. The ministry was part of the public employment service system.
