2024: Purchase and implementation of 647 units of new medical equipment worth ₽1 billion
In the Murmansk region, 647 units of new medical equipment worth about ₽1 billion were launched. The update took place during 2024 as part of a program to modernize the regional health care system with federal funding. Governor Andrei Chibis announced the implementation of the project in June 2025 during the summing up of the annual results of the industry.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Information Policy of the Murmansk Region, ₽3,6 billion were allocated for the development of the infrastructure of medical organizations within the framework of the national project "Healthcare." In 2024, the national projects "Health" and "Demography" were completed, and since 2025 the health sector has entered four new national projects.
In theGovernor Andrei Chibis noted that the Murmansk region has become one of the leaders in the country in terms of life expectancy dynamics. The region also entered the top 3 constituent entities of Russia in terms of the number of lives saved, which confirms the assessment of the federal Ministry of Health.
Staffing remains one of the priorities of the regional government. From 2019 to 2024, 725 doctors were involved in the Murmansk region, and over the past two years the balance was + 195 specialists. In 2024, under the Zemsky Doctor program, 20 doctors and 3 paramedics were involved.
In 2025, the region expects the arrival of 45 new target specialists. Salaries of medical workers in the Murmansk region remain among the highest - 3rd place in the North-West Federal District and 11th in Russia.
To improve the effectiveness of medical care in the region, the structure of health care is changing by enlarging institutions. Reducing the number of subordinate organizations will save money and increase the availability of medical care for residents of the north.[1]
