Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Fisheries of Murmansk Region

Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Fisheries of Murmansk Region (until April 1, 2021 - Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Murmansk Region^[1] to ^[1]) is the executive body of state power of the Murmansk region, which performs the functions of developing regional state policy and implementing state policy, including the transferred powers of the Russian Federation, including legal regulation, in the following areas:

• use of natural resources, environmental protection and environmental safety, atmospheric air protection, radiation safety of the population (with the exception of issues of international cooperation and technical assistance in the field of nuclear and radiation safety, as well as issues of development of the Murmansk territorial automated radiation monitoring system and its management), subsoil use, production and consumption waste management (excluding municipal solid waste), environmental expertise of regional-level facilities, water relations, safety of hydraulic structures, environmental education, creation, protection (state supervision in the field of protection and use of specially protected natural areas) and the use of specially protected natural areas of regional importance, the implementation of regional state supervision and federal state supervision in these areas of activity;
• use, protection, protection and reproduction of forests on the lands of the forest fund, implementation of federal state forest supervision (forest protection) on the lands of the forest fund, federal state fire supervision in forests, determination of functional zones in forest park zones, areas and borders of forest park zones, green zones, establishment and change of boundaries of forest park zones, green zones;
• hunting, conservation of hunting resources and their habitat, protection and use of wildlife, not classified as hunting objects and aquatic biological resources, carrying out federal state supervision in the field of protection and use of wildlife objects and their habitat in the Murmansk region, with the exception of wildlife objects and their habitat located in specially protected natural territories of federal significance located in the Murmansk region, federal state hunting supervision;
• fishery complex, including the transferred powers of the Russian Federation in the field of protection and use of aquatic biological resources;
• agro-industrial complex, including agriculture, food and processing industries
• regulating the market for fish and agricultural products, raw materials and food produced by regional producers;
• Performs functions for the provision of public services in these areas of activity within its competence^[2].

2020: The main activity of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Murmansk Region

As of December 2020, the main activity of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Murmansk Region was the organization and coordination of the development of regional environmental programs, the development of regulatory documents to improve the state of the natural environment.
