History
On August 11, 1924, a plenary meeting of the Presidium of the Moscow City Council was held, at which it was decided to gradually begin organizing suburban bus services, then to transport services for industrial cities of the Moscow province. The first buses in the Moscow region appeared on the streets of Serpukhov, Kolomna, Orekhovo-Zuev, Podolsk, Bogorodsk (Noginsk) and some other cities in 1925-1926. It was from this time that the State Unitary Enterprise MO Mostransavto countdown its age.
Over 80 years, public transport in the Moscow region has experienced many shocks and has undergone transformations. The last 15 years, coinciding with the beginning of "perestroika," have become a period of testing for the entire transport complex of Russia. In 1992, Mostransavto passed from state ownership to regional ownership, and therefore financial support was reduced. If earlier 12% of rolling stock was updated during the year and about the same amount was overhauled, then after perestroika the number of new buses sharply decreased, and buses were no longer repaired at specialized factories, but in workshops at enterprises. The financial situation of Mostransavto has also changed - after all, in addition to the state carrier, a large number of private ones have appeared.
In order to provide residents and guests of the Moscow region with reliable transport, I had to look for new ways to get Mostransavto out of the financial and technical crisis. Thus, Mostransavto enterprises began to enter the commercial transportation market (for this, almost 1000 Gazelle minibuses were leased), and long-distance routes appeared, mainly parallel to the main railway directions.
2001 was a turning point for Mostransavto. Mostransavto enterprises received large batches of new buses. Among other things, the construction and reconstruction of bus stations and bus stations began. In recent years, convenient stations have been built in Sergiev Posad, Chekhov, Klin, Lukhovitsy, Serebryanye Prudy, Domodedovo, Yegoryevsk, Voskresensk, Kolomna and other cities of the Moscow region. Other programs began to be developed (including on automation of production), ultimately aimed at improving the quality of passenger transportation.
In 2007, on a leasing basis, Mostransavto received a large batch of new suburban buses from Turkey of the Mercedes-Benz Conecto brand, which made it possible to replace the cars that have developed their service life on suburban and intercity routes.
As of May 2009, the entire system of the State Unitary Enterprise MO Mostransavto is headed by General Director Nikolai Mikhailovich Grivas, Deputy General Director for Transportation Andrei Anatolyevich Grishin, Head of the Informatization Department Anatoly Vladimirovich Postolit and many others.
At the end of July 2024, it was announced the appointment of Dmitry Minchenko as the new head of Mostransavto. Read more here.
Rolling stock
As of 2004, about 64.0% of rolling stock worked in public transport, of which about 48.0% were LiAZ buses, 13.5% were PAZ buses. Routes connecting cities and settlements of the Moscow region with the city of Moscow were mainly served by MAN, Mercedes, Setra, Ikarus buses. The share of these buses in the total number was 34.7%.
Mostransavto's rolling stock mainly consists of:

Commuter services
The lion's share in passenger transportation is occupied by suburban transportation. Routes connecting large cities of the Moscow region with Moscow are in great demand among the population Depending on the specific exit, they can be both social (with the provision of all travel benefits) and contractual (commercial).
Urban transportation
At the same time, most of the population of the Moscow region lives in cities, therefore, the transportation of passengers along intracity routes is one of the main activities of the State Unitary Enterprise MO Mostransavto. And as in the case of suburban transportation, they can be both social (in the mode of public transport, with the provision of all benefits for paying for travel) and contractual (commercial)
Long-distance transportation
State Unitary Enterprise MO Mostransavto also operates intercity flights of increased comfort. Since 2005, intercity routes have been operating in a contractual mode (without providing benefits).
