2021: Plan to launch the production of microelectronic products in the Novgorodskaya SEZ
On June 3, 2021, the Module Scientific and Technical Center and the Government of the Novgorod Region signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by the General Director of the NTC "Module" Andrei Adamov and the Governor of the Novgorod Region Andrei Nikitin.
According to the agreement, in the special economic zone of the industrial and production type "Novgorod" STC "Module" plans to implement the project "Creation of microelectronic production," which involves the design, construction and commissioning of a large production of microelectronic modules of multi-chip assemblies using SiP technology (system-in-package, system-in-building). The total usable production area will be 4 thousand square meters. Within the framework of the project, about 200 jobs will be created, of which more than 120 are high-tech. The project is planned to be implemented in cooperation with a foreign technological partner.
The estimated volume of investments will be 1 billion rubles. Their main part will be directed to the construction of a production building, the purchase of equipment and the creation of production premises. The investment cycle should be completed in the third year after the launch of the project. The main sources of financing for the project at the investment stage will be borrowed funds. The volume of the company's own funds is estimated at 200 million rubles.
The main consumers of future production products are enterprises with the so-called special requirements (enterprises of the space industry, fuel and energy complex, etc.), as well as manufacturers of computer and telecommunications equipment that solve the problems of increasing the level of localization in Russia.
The volume of tax privileges the SEZ will optimize selling prices for components by 10-13%, which, together with measures state to support Russian microelectronic products, will make it possible to compete with the offers of world vendors for. microelectronics market

2011: 90nm chip for digital set-top boxes begins production
In March 2011, it became known that in the fall of 2011, the production of a domestic 90 nm chip for digital set-top boxes, developed by the Module design center, will begin. The developers have already agreed with General Satellite to produce consoles based on it. Market experts say this is a big step forward for the domestic industry, although leading manufacturers are already producing telechips on the 45 nm topology.
The production of the first domestic chip for digital television will begin in the fall of 2011 after completing work[2] its software firmware, Anton] Shkurenko, a representative of the developer of the design center microcircuit of the NTC Module[2] CNews.
The chip with the codename K1879KhB1Ya developed in the 90 nm topology, production lines for which do not exist in Russia (such a line is currently in the process of installation at Zelenograd Micron, a plant representative told CNews). The chip will be produced by Fujitsu in Japan. The management of the NTC "Module" declares that its product can become a full-fledged replacement for foreign-made chips.
Ready-made chips can be used in set-top boxes, including for high-definition TV, and terrestrial, satellite and cable television receivers.
STC "Module" has already agreed on the production of set-top boxes for receiving a digital signal with General Satellite, an association of developers and manufacturers of set-top boxes, whose partners are, in particular, the broadcasters NTV-Plus and Tricolor TV. General Satellite enterprises are located in Technopolice Gusev in the Kalinigrad region.
The estimated production volumes of set-top boxes for digital TV were not reported, however, STC "Module" plans to produce on Fujitsu "from 100 thousand to 500 thousand chips per year." At the same time, it is domestic manufacturers of set-top boxes that will become the main sales market for them.
Mikhail Medrish, technical director of Akado, believes that the estimated sales volume in the digital television set-top box market is quite small: "DVB-T (digital terrestrial television) in large cities will have very low penetration, since each apartment already has a cable (DVB-C). The main area for receiving numbers from the air is rather not cities, but areas with loose buildings (suburbs). Therefore, the overall scale of this activity in Russia is less than if we count the population head-on. "
However, the expert says, success can await manufacturers of domestic chips if they can go beyond the Russian market with their products: "This is a difficult task, but solved - with political support and financial investments."
Another expert on the television equipment market noted that "now the leading chipmakers - Broadcom, STMicroelectronics, Trident, Intel - are already producing their chipsets in 45 nm topology. "Module" has developed a chipset using 90 nm technology, and this is normal for today, since in any case this is a step forward for the Russian manufacturer. "
2008: Victory in the tender of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the development of technologies for creating electronic modules of the MPEG-4 decoder
In October 2008, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a tender for "Development of basic technologies for creating unified electronic modules of the MPEG-4 decoder for digital television receivers." Design Center "Module" won the competition with an application for 58 million rubles.
