2018: Return to the market of non-reflex cameras

At the end of July, 2018 Nikon announced return to the market of non-reflex cameras. According to the official statement, the company develops full frame mirrorless model of the Nikon FX format with new fastening for lenses.

The producer claims that the created product and also the new lenses Nikkor for it will open "new measurement in optical indicators". In the press release it is noted, a new system "is result of the unsurpassed optical and production capabilities of Nikon which are saved up for more than century".

Details about technical characteristics of the Nikon non-reflex camera and also terms of an exit and estimated cost of a product are not called. Date is only mentioned on August 23, 2018 in the tizerny video.

According to unofficial data, the company will produce two models equipped with image sensors with resolution capability of 48 and 25 megapixels. The cost of these devices will be $4 thousand and $2.5 thousand respectively.

Both cameras will receive a five-axis stabilization system of the image. It is told about support of consecutive photographing with a speed up to 9 frames per second. Attribute to devices existence of slots for the memory cards XQD and CF Express and also the electronic viewfinder with the resolution of 3.6 million pixels. According to Nikkei, the new Nikon non-reflex cameras will go on sale in the fall of 2018.

As notes the edition, the segment of mirrorless devices remained the only thing growing in the market. Such equipment is demanded among young people and women.

Nikon J5 non-reflex camera

Last time by July, 2018 a series of mirrorless Nikon 1 cameras was updated in 2015. Then the Nikon J5 model was provided. However demand for it was impaired a little by rather high cost, the small 1-inch sensor and confused designations of products.[1]

This model was on sale not for long then Nikon abandoned the market of non-reflex cameras for several years.
