Okulovskaya paper mill is one of the oldest enterprises in the pulp and paper industry in Russia. Founded in 1856, the factory specializes in the production of paper from waste paper. In November 2024, the company completed a large-scale modernization, the purpose of which was to improve product quality and production efficiency. The project was implemented with the support of the Industrial Development Fund, which provided a preferential loan of ₽254 million. The total investment amounted to more than ₽700 million.
The upgrade included updating equipment, automating key processes and introducing modern technologies. The result was the start of paper production with improved physical and mechanical characteristics. At the end of 2023, the company reported revenue of ₽3 billion and net profit of ₽206 million.
Kappa Rus JSC is one of the leaders of the Russian packaging materials market. The company specializes in the production of corrugated cardboard, container cardboard and bag-in-box packaging for liquid products. Four factories located in Moscow and the Leningrad region employ 800 people. Kappa Rus was created as a result of the reorganization of SOYUZ Production and Experimental Factory OJSC and in 2017 came under the control of Smurfit Kappa Packaging Sweden Aktiebolag. However, in March 2023, the Smurfit Kappa group left the Russian market, selling assets to Swedish investor Yun-Ulov Patrick.[1]
