On August 10, 2021, Unity announced the acquisition of remote desktop service provider Parsec Cloud in a deal worth $320 million.

Unity said the purchase of Parsec is an important step toward an expanded cloud vision that allows developers to work from anywhere, on any device, with access to rich and powerful tools that can be used at any time.

During the earnings call, Unity Software CEO John Riccitello emphasized that the company's goal is to provide users with the best tools to successfully work as RT3D developers.

Unity is designed to allow creators to create something digital and instantly deploy their work on dozens of types of platforms and devices, which should make participation in creating a metaverse accessible to all developers and artists regardless of industry, "said Unity Software Chief Executive Officer John Riccitello.

The company believes that RT3D is an inevitable evolution of how people work with digital content and it will become a fundamental technology, the so-called metaverse. This is a vision that is often promoted by ALSO CEO Mark Zuckerberg, which refers to a kind of virtual universe where humans will use digital avatars and VRs to interact with each other.

As part of Unity's exit from the gaming industry, she also teaches AI. The company sees its virtual 3D worlds as an ideal training ground for various types of AI and for this began selling synthetic datasets in early June, which it says can be used to train algorithms in very specific areas where real data can be difficult to access.[1]
