Petrocas Energy owns and operates an oil terminal in the Georgian port of Poti, as well as a network of gas stations in Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan (by 2014). The company is engaged in the transshipment of petroleum products in the regions of the Black Sea, Transcaucasia, the Caspian and the Eastern Mediterranean. Petrocas is headquartered in Cyprus and operates from offices in Limassol, Tbilisi and Moscow.

History

2022: Rosneft sold 49% of Petrocas Energy to the company's CEO Vano Nakaidze

Rosneft sold its stake (49%) in Petrocas Energy to the general director of this Georgian company, Vano Nakaidze. This became known in June 2022.

As a result of the transaction, Rosneft completely withdrew from its stake in Petrocas Energy Group, and two of its representatives on the board of directors resigned, Petrocas Energy said in a statement quoted by Interfax. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Rosneft sold Petrocas Energy to Vano Nakaidze

According to the Georgian Internet portal civil.ge, the sale of Petrocas Energy shares owned by Rosneft is associated with sanctions imposed against Russia. The majority stake in Petrocas Energy is owned by a Russian businessman of Georgian origin David Yakobashvili, the newspaper points out.

By June 2022, Petrocas Energy Group includes the Gulf Oil International gas station network, the Poti Oil Terminal and Petrokas Fuel Service Georgia, one of the country's largest suppliers of jet fuel. Gulf Georgia owns up to 150 petrol stations in Georgia, including 43 in Tbilisi.[1]

2014: Rosneft acquires 49% stake in Petrocas Energy

In December 2014, Rosneft acquired a 49% stake in Petrocas Energy from businessman David Yakobashvili (he still had a controlling stake - 51%). A joint venture (JV) was created to implement Rosneft's activities in Transcaucasia. With the help of the joint venture, gasoline supplies to Iran were started.
