2025: CarUX bought Pioneer from EQT for $1.1 billion
Swedish investment company EQT has reached an agreement to sell Japanese electronics manufacturer Pioneer Corp. to a subsidiary of Taiwan's Innolux Corp. for $1.1 billion. This was announced in June 2025 by EQT. As stated in the message, CarUX will act as a buyer, specializing in the release of TFT-LCD (liquid crystal displays with an active matrix) for the automotive sector. EQT acquired Pioneer in 2019.
