History

2021: Mail.ru Group bought Playkey

At the end of May 2021, it became known about the sale of Playkey to Mail.ru Group. The participants did not disclose the cost of the transaction. It is planned to close it during 2021.

Under the terms of the agreement, Mail.ru Group received 80% of Playkey. The remaining shares, judging by the data of the SPARK-Interfax system, belong to individuals: the founder of the company Yegor Guryev owns 6.8% of the company, another 6.58% - Vadim Andreev and Alexei Lykov. Mail.ru Group is negotiating by May 25, 2021 to acquire the remaining 20 percent stake in the developer of the gaming platform.

Mail.ru Group acquired Playkey

According to the CEO of Mail.ru Group Boris Dobrodeev, Playkey technologies will allow the group to develop the MY.GAMES gaming division faster and spur the growth of the gaming ecosystem of the entire company.

Commenting on the deal with Mail.ru Group, the head and founder of Playkey, Yegor Guryev, called it an important stage in the development of the startup, given the technological capabilities, infrastructure and expertise in the gaming industry that the Internet holding has.

According to Guryev, Playkey made the first integration with the Armata game from Mail.ru Group back in 2015, and since then the companies have been discussing possible cooperation options.[1]

2020: Availability of the game service in the Cloud gaming martekplace from MTS

On July 23, 2020, MTS PJSC, a Russian company providing digital, media and telecommunications services, announced the launch of a marketplace in the field of cloud gaming, combining all the platforms presented on the Russian market - GFN.RU (on NVIDIA GeForce NOW technologies), Loudplay, Playkey and DROVA.
