2025: Centre Launch

The National Technology Initiative Project Support Fund has created the NTI Competence Center in the direction of "Promising Technologies for Space Systems and Services." The volume of investments in the project is ₽1 billion. The new unit will develop methods for swarm control of unmanned vehicles from space and the creation of devices for remote sensing of the Earth. This became known on June 3, 2024.

According to TASS, the division's specialists will develop technologies for interacting space systems with mobile communication networks 5GA and methods for using space systems to coordinate many unmanned aerial vehicles.

The center will also focus on building flight and prototype small spacecraft for remote sensing of the Earth. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to develop key components of such devices - cameras, radars and engines for new space systems in low and medium orbits.

The implementation of the center's program will begin in 2025. The unit will function on the basis of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, which won the competitive selection. A consortium of scientific and educational organizations is involved in the work to ensure an integrated approach to solving the tasks.

The center's activities provide for the training of specialized personnel for the space industry in nine educational programs. This will provide the industry with qualified specialists in the field of modern space technologies and unmanned systems management.

General Director of the NTI Foundation Vadim Medvedev stressed that the center unites the competencies of leading space universities. According to him, large-scale cooperation will achieve breakthrough results in the development of space technologies.[1]
