2024: Launch of quartz glass production for microelectronics in Solnechnogorsk

In Solnechnogorsk, launched the production of quartz glass for microelectronics worth ₽340 million. The new Quartz Crystal Technologies enterprise is located on the territory of the Esipovo industrial park and will become one of the leading centers for the production of quartz glass products for the needs of microelectronics, optics and instrumentation in Russia. This became known in September 2024.

According to Vedomosti, the launch of production made it possible to create about 50 jobs, including positions for highly qualified specialists. The products produced by the enterprise will help ensure the technological sovereignty of domestic microelectronics manufacturers. The first production products, including equipment for silicon structures, are planned to be released in the first quarter of 2025.

Quartz glass production for microelectronics started in Solnechnogorsk for 340 million rubles

Quartz Crystal Technologies was founded in 2008 and specializes in the production of quartz glass products. According to Nikita Ilyin, CEO of the company, preparatory work included market analysis and studying the needs of industry, which made it possible to assess the profitability of the project. The demand for high-tech products is growing, which necessitated the creation of a new production complex.

For production, the company uses highly pure quartz concentrate. Products such as reactors, cassettes, evaporators and pipes find application not only in microelectronics, but also in the semiconductor industry, lighting engineering, petrochemicals, medicine and other industries. The plant in Solnechnogorsk will significantly increase the production capacity of the company, concentrating all divisions in one territory.

The project also plans to open a research center (R&D), which will develop new quartz glass alloys and train specialists. The center will contribute to the development of technologies and the creation of innovative solutions for microelectronics and related industries.[1]

2023: Project on localization of tooling production for microelectronics enterprises

On August 14, 2023, representatives of Quartz Crystal Technologies (TransTeleCom), a manufacturer of quartz glass products Russia in and, countries CIS announced TAdviser the implementation of a project to localize the production of tooling for enterprises microelectronics in Industrial City Esipovo. It is planned that according to the results of the first and second stages of localization, the plant's area will be 2100 sq.m., of which 1755 sq.m. will be occupied directly by the production unit, and 342 sq.m. - by the office and laboratory building.

In Russia, localize the production of equipment for microelectronics enterprises

By June 1, 2024, the plant plans to deploy the development and production of tooling for diffusion and epitaxial processes for silicon structures with a diameter of up to 200 mm in microelectronics.

In addition, the TransTeleCom plans to place its own R&D center at the site for scientific research in the field of production of new glass alloys, new methods of production and improvement of production processes, in order to develop a domestic school of highly qualified specialists in this area, the company noted.
