2024: Appointment by the Authorized Organization in the Field of Digital Health of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan It approved an organization that will be responsible for the development and management of digital health care in the country. According to a government decree of August 16, 2024, the Republican Electronic Center health care under the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the republic was determined by an authorized organization in this area.

This decree will enter into force on November 25, 2024. It provides that the Republican Center for Electronic Health will become a key institute in the field of digitalization of medical services and the introduction of innovative technologies in healthcare in Kazakhstan. As part of its activities, the Center will coordinate the development and implementation of advanced digital solutions aimed at improving the quality of medical care and the availability of services to the population.

Digital health care is becoming an increasingly important element in Kazakhstan's health care system. Recent initiatives, such as the introduction of a mobile drug price tracking app and the use of Face ID to combat postscripts in health clinics, highlight the country's commitment to modernizing and increasing transparency in medical processes. According to the newspaper, these innovations have already begun to bring the first results in improving the control and quality of medical services.

The designation of the Republican eHealth Center as an authorized organization opens up new opportunities for the development of the national health care system. The center will coordinate all processes related to digitalization, which includes the development of standards and protocols for digital health services, the integration of various databases and ensuring the security of medical information.

Minister of Health of Kazakhstan Akmaral Alnazarova emphasized the importance of this decision, noting that it will significantly advance in the digitalization of medical services and improve the availability of high-quality medical care for all citizens.[1]
