Roca Group is the production of a full range of bathroom products with almost a century of history, originating in the suburbs of Barcelona. The family business began there in 1917 and today the company has representative offices in 135 countries and has 66 factories with more than 18,700 employees. Roca Group opened its first production in Russia in 2006, - near St. Petersburg, the Roca Plumbing plant was launched. This is the first plant in Russia of a foreign manufacturer of plumbing equipment. Production with 100% Spanish capital today produces products under the trademarks Jika and Roca. In addition, Roca Plumbing represents the Laufen brand (Switzerland) on the Russian market, which is also part of the Roca Group portfolio. Ceramics has been part of the Roca Group since 2007. It has two factories in the Volga region and produces ceramic bathroom products under the Santek brand.
History
2024: Moscow "World of Ceramics" bought a plumbing plant in the Leningrad region from Roca Group
In early December 2024, Mir Ceramics JSC became the owner of 100% of the authorized capital of Roca RUS LLC, which owns the production of plumbing in the city of Tosno, Leningrad Region. Previously, the company was completely owned by the Spanish manufacturer of faience plumbing Roca Group.
According to Interfax, the plant in Tosno has been operating since 2004 and occupies a production area of 26 thousand square meters. m. Initial investment in construction amounted to €40 million. In 2022, the company planned to increase production from 500 thousand to 1.5 million units of products per year.
JSC "World of Ceramics," founded in April 2024 and specializing in the wholesale trade in building materials, is headed by Alexander Lebedev. The holder of the shareholder register is JSC NRK-R.O.S.T., owned by businessman Aleksei Filin.
Through the World of Ceramics, Aleksei Filin also acquired the manufacturer of furniture for bathrooms, Aquaton RUS LLC, which has been owned by Roca Sanitario S.A. since 2015. In February 2024, the businessman bought Russian Wienerberger factories in the Vladimir region and Tatarstan.
In addition, Filin received 95% control over Business Invest (the remaining 5% from Sberbank Investments), which subsequently acquired Atakaycement LLC for ₽4,39 billion. The company is one of the largest cement producers in the Southern Federal District, occupying 10% of the Krasnodar Territory market with a production capacity of 450 thousand tons of cement per year.
Roca Group, which has its head office in Barcelona, previously announced plans to transfer its seven Russian enterprises to local management. The company owns more than 70 factories worldwide and is one of the world's largest manufacturers of sanfayans and bathroom furniture. The value of the Russian assets of the Spanish company was estimated by experts at ₽10 billion.[1]
2022: Transfer of plant to managers
At the end of June 2022, the Spanish plumbing manufacturer Roca announced the transfer of Russian business to local managers. After the closure of the transaction, the company will leave the Russian market.

It also says that in order to close the transaction, it is necessary to obtain approval from regulatory authorities in Russia and complete administrative procedures. At the same time, the parameters of the transaction were not disclosed, in particular, the new owners of the Russian business Roca are unknown.
The Roca Rus plant in the city of Tosno, Leningrad Region, produces sanitary ceramics - 600 thousand units of products per year. It employs 250 people. In April 2022, its work was suspended due to problems with raw materials.
In April 2022, Roca was supposed to put into operation additional capacity, increasing the productivity of the enterprise to 1.5 million units of products per year. The company signed a corresponding agreement with the government of the Leningrad Region back in 2018. It was assumed that the volume of investments in the expansion will amount to 3.8 billion rubles. For these purposes, the regional government allocated two land plots with a total area of 4.5 hectares without a competition. On the Russian market, Roca Rus LLC presents collections of sanitary ceramics under the trademarks Roca, Armani/Roca, Jika and Laufen.[2]
