Data breach of hundreds of thousands of visitors to World Class fitness clubs
At the end of August 2024, the World Class fitness club chain was subjected to a hacker attack, as a result of which the personal data of hundreds of thousands of visitors were leaked. In particular, the 1C: Enterprise database with a volume of more than 146 GB got into open access.
According to the Telegram channel "Information Leaks," cybercriminals were able to steal a backup copy (in Norton Ghost format) of the "1C" database with information about customers and employees of the World Class fitness club chain. In total, the database contains records of approximately 2.2 million legal entities and individuals (active, inactive and potential clients) and 10.1 thousand employees. The information is relevant as of October 16, 2023. The following information has been leaked:
· Client's surname, patronymic name or organization name;
· Address;
· Phone number (1.9 million unique numbers);
· E-mail address (712 thousand unique addresses);
· Date of birth;
· Paul;
· Passport data (not for all);
· Partial credit card number (not for everyone);
· Bank details (for legal entities);
· Information on records for individual training sessions, visits to clubs, etc.;
· Link to the photo on the server solutions.worldclass.ru.
Cyber Media notes that the stolen files were made public on the Internet without any restrictions on access. This information can be used to organize deeply personalized phishing attacks and other fraudulent schemes aimed at stealing money. By knowing the names of World Class customers, their phone numbers and other personal details, cybercriminals can put victims to sleep. And this significantly increases the chances of success of a fraudulent campaign. Sources close to World Class management claim that work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the leak and strengthen security measures.[1]
