Performance indicators
2023: Making record net profit - ₽37 billion
Net profit of CJSC S7 Group of Companies in 2023 reached ₽37 billion, which is a record figure in the history of the company. Data on the financial results of the parent company of the air carrier S7 Airlines were published on December 2, 2024, according to information from the Kontur.Focus database.
The main profit growth was provided by income from participation in other organizations. Positive dynamics can be traced from 2021, when net profit was ₽3,5 billion, in 2022 the figure increased to ₽16,7 billion, and then more than doubled. In 2020, the company ended its fiscal year with losses.
Siberia Airlines JSC, the main operating enterprise of the S7 Group, in 2022 received a net profit of ₽34,2 billion with revenue of ₽151,5 billion. As of 2018, the owner of 100% of the shares of JSC was CJSC C7 Group of Companies, which is confirmed by data from the Kontur. Focus database.
The general director of the S7 holding Dmitry Kudelkin noted the positive dynamics of passenger traffic - in the eight months of 2023, the company transported 4.9% more passengers compared to the same period in 2022.
Experts attribute the sharp increase in the airline's profits in 2022-2023 to the suspension of leasing payments for aircraft after the imposition of sanctions. In the S7 fleet there are more than 80 aircraft manufactured by Boeing and Airbus of different years of production. The average cost of one aircraft is $250 million (about ₽22,5 billion).
When distributing the cost of an aircraft for 20 years, excluding interest and insurance, the annual lease payment for one aircraft should be $12.5 million (over ₽1,1 billion). The suspension of these payments significantly affected the financial performance of the company. For comparison, the group's net profit is comparable to 44.5% of the planned budget revenues of Novosibirsk for 2024, amounting to ₽83,2 billion.[1]
