2020: Investment of the Pentagon for control of supply chains
In the middle of June, 2020 the U.S. Department of Defense selected $1.5 million SIMBA Chain blockchain company for researches in the field of control of a supply chain. In this case the blockchain acts as service (BaaS) and allows SIMBA Chain to establish close ties with the U.S. Air Force.
It is known that SIMBA Chain already began the second phase of the research of innovations in the field of small business (SBIR) in cooperation with the U.S. Air Force. This project is directed to providing the value proposition based on technology of a blockchain which should use practices of military supply chains.
The CEO of SIMBA Chain Joel Neidig specified that the company will create the Hyperledger Fabric node at Tinker air base in Oklahoma. It is remarkable that it is the logistic center of a supply chain of the U.S. Air Force. Initially main attention will be paid to risk management within a pool of purchases of the Air Force. The purpose of the company — to define all risk factors and to select potential zones of a gap in a supply chain.
SIMBA Chain also signed the partnership agreement with Boeing to unroll a new initiative and to use statistics from "real data". However Neydig did not specify what elements of a supply chain Boeing will be traced at the second stage of the SBIR project.
The SIMBA Chain company positions itself as the representative a blockchain firms in military ecosystems. It is interesting that technologies of the company, in turn, got support from the Air Force as directed of the director of special programs, strategy and the policy of the U.S. Air Force Jeffrey Slayton:
The developing technologies, such as SIMBA Chain blockchain platform, can provide reliable information exchange through unreliable network and technology superiority American air, space and cyber-forces.[1] |
