2016: Shimadzu buys SINC
On August 1, 2016 the Japanese producer of the medical equipment Shimadzu announced purchase of SINC for the purpose of strengthening of the business on any release of devices.
The price of the transaction is not set. Shimadzu only notes that the agreement was signed at the end of April, 2016 through Brazilian "subsidiary" of SBL (Shimadzu do Brasil Comercio) in whom about $12 million were invested.
Expenses on acquisition of SINC and also on relocation of the headquarters of SBL to the city of Barueri (the state of São Paulo, Brazil) entered this amount. Besides, investments into construction of new training center and laboratory will enter here. The tasks of efficiency evaluation and development of methods of the analysis will be set for the last.
SBL founded in 1988 cooperates with SINC in the field of sales and service of an analytical and metering equipment of Shimadzu in the Brazilian market. Thanks to merger of SINC the Shimadzu company will be able to sell the products directly in the country and also to enter the new markets and to improve the activity in the field of an after-sale service. As a result the producer expects to raise the financial performance in the markets of South America to both an average and long-term outlook. It is predicted that in 2019 financial year revenue of SBL will reach about $40 million.
It is going execute all formalities concerning questions of integration of SINC with Shimadzu business within financial year which will last until the end of March of the 2017th calendar.[1]
