History
2024: Launch of a new plant in Pskov
On October 26, 2024, Sevkabel commissioned a new cable production plant in Pskov. The project, the cost of which amounted to ₽5 billion, was implemented on the basis of the assets of the St. Petersburg plant Sevkabel, which went bankrupt in 2020. Funds for modernization and conversion were allocated by the industrial holding Akron Holding, which acquired the assets of the enterprise after the bankruptcy process was completed.
According to Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Mikhail Ivanov, the launch of the capacity of the Pskov plant supports the growth of the cable industry, which in 2023 increased domestic production by 21%, reaching an indicator of ₽400 billion. For the first eight months of 2024, the dynamics remains at the level of 20%. During the opening ceremony, Ivanov stressed that the new production will not only meet the needs of the market, but will also create about 1.7 thousand jobs.
The company plans to organize the production of polymer materials for the cable industry, which will strengthen Sevkabel's production position in the domestic market.
Today's opening of Sevkabel on a new site - a plant with a rich history, which participated in all grandiose Soviet projects and gave rise to the entire domestic electrical industry, this is an event of special importance. Despite the difficult times for the enterprise, the plant survived and retained its main competencies, gained its rebirth here in the Pskov province, thanks to our joint efforts with you. I hope that the new site of the legendary Sevkabel plant will take its rightful place in the cable industry market, will develop modern technologies, implement world-class solutions, "Ivanov read out a congratulatory address on behalf of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov at the end of October 2024.[1] |
2021: Supreme Court restores powers of bankruptcy trustee from Trust Bank
RKT lawyers managed to achieve in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation the restoration of the powers of the bankruptcy trustee of PK Sevkabel LLC.
The bankruptcy of the long-suffering oldest cable manufacturer, which has been going on for about a year.
The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region initially appointed the bankruptcy trustee Elena Savchuk to lead the insolvency procedure. But then she was removed from management by the courts of appeal and cassation.
The Supreme Court put an end to the dispute over the eligibility of the bankruptcy trustee on November 10, 2021 and canceled the decisions of the lower courts - they mistakenly denied Trust Bank (the bankruptcy applicant) the right to propose the candidacy of the arbitration trustee.
The Supreme Court explained that the bank is a special subject of the implementation of measures to recover problematic debts of credit institutions rehabilitated by the state, corporate rights against borrowers are acquired by it for security purposes. This is in contrast to the ordinary beneficiary of an insolvent entity, and therefore the Bank's objectives in bankruptcy proceedings of its own subsidiary are indistinguishable from those of other competitive creditors. What does it mean? That the bank has the right to propose the candidacy of an arbitration manager or self-regulatory organization when filing for bankruptcy.
Thanks to the efforts of the RKT, Elena Savchuk managed to prove the legitimacy of her own appointment, return the authority to complete the bankruptcy proceedings of PK Sevkabel and cancel the judicial acts on her illegal removal - they would prevent her approval in other insolvency procedures and generally jeopardize the implementation of the activities of the arbitration manager as a whole.
2020: Bank Trust begins bankruptcy of the enterprise
In November 2020, Trust Bank began bankruptcy of the St. Petersburg enterprise Sevkabel, which is one of the largest cable manufacturers in Russia.
Sergei Yarmilko, director of the Sevkabel management company, is "perplexed" by the owner's decision to "bankrupt the profitable enterprise": in 2019, the plant earned 620 million rubles.
The plant will move from the expensive Vasilyevsky Island in the center of St. Petersburg to the territory of the Kirov Plant. The relocation to the new site of 55 thousand square meters. meters was supposed to be completed by the end of 2020, and by April 2021, production lines were launched.
If the enterprise is nevertheless liquidated, then this threatens the loss of work to 500 employees and a debt queue of 30 supplier companies.
2000: Start of modernisation
In the period from 2000 to 2004, the plant was modernized - new workshops were built, equipment from leading manufacturers was purchased: Troester, Maillefer, Niehoff, Cortinovis. Today Sevkabel is a modern production that develops, produces and supplies cable and conductor products for many industries.
1994: Re-orientation to import substitution
Since 1994, Sevkabel was the first in Russia to actively develop the production of import-substituting cables, starting to expand the range of products due to the nomenclature, which in terms of quality corresponds to the best world analogues.
