2022: Alcor & Co has increased its share in the Girlfriend network to 100%

On August 8, 2022, the Alcor and Co company (owner of the L'Etoile chain of stores) announced the purchase of the entire chain of cosmetics, perfumes and household chemicals stores "Girlfriend." The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Until August 2022, Alcor and Co owned 90% of Taber Trade LLC (controlled by the Girlfriend network), and now another 10% of the shares have been acquired. 5% of the company remained with the founder of the company Dmitry Tamurka, another 5% - with its executive director Pavel Smirnov.

"L'Etoile" bought a chain of stores "Girlfriend"

Tatyana Volodina, General Director of L'Etoile, called the deal "a strategically important step" for both L'Etoile and Girlfriends, which "will strengthen the business of both companies in absolutely all directions": retail and online stores, logistics, finance, marketing.

We will significantly increase the assortment of both companies, including new product categories, offer customers even more attractive prices, expand geography, speed and delivery methods, integrate innovative IT developments and technologies, - said Volodina, whose words are quoted by the press service of Alcor and Co.

By August 2022, 287 stores of the "Girlfriend" chain operate in Russia, the range of the chain has 22 thousand product items (cosmetics, perfumes, self-care products, accessories and jewelry). L'Etoile is represented by 1,000 stores in 250 Russian cities. According to the company's own data, more than 60 thousand goods are sold on its marketplace.

On August 8, 2022, changes in the management of Taber Trade LLC were also announced: one of the founders of the company, Dmitry Tamurka, was replaced by Stanislav Melinger as general director. The latter was described in the message as "an experienced top manager with a unique combination of leadership experience."^[1]
