Task

"Task" provides the telecom solutions allowing to provide corporate clients with a full range of services of fixed connection including services on the organization of virtual private networks (VPN) and networks of corporate communication; services of local, international and intercity communication, Internet access, including in Wi-fi technology and also additional services, such as supply of equipment, co-location. The company has an access network which is constructed on the basis of own fiber-optic communication lines 1100 km long - in Moscow and 50 cities of Moscow area and wireless links - pre-WiMax radio network.

Performance Indicators

According to a research of RMR company, revenue of the Russian telecommunication companies in 2010 made 25.5 billion euros. Thus, in comparison with 2009 the market increased the revenue almost by 4%. In the same time, similar indicators Task show that the company develops higher rates, showing growth of revenue in 11% in comparison with 2009. The last two crisis years became serious testing for many industries of business, however financial performance Task still shows confident movement up. In 2010 net profit exceeded 100 million rubles Software to forecasts of the company, revenue in 2011 will reach 1 billion 75 million rubles.

According to SPARK base, revenue of Taskom in 2010 made about 890 million rubles, net profit - 98 million rubles.

History

2010

Within upgrade based on fiber-optical trunks of the operator the IP network with support of MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) was unrolled. Start of IP MPLS network of Taskom and implementation of the new services organized on the MPLS platform were implemented within one year. Now the backbone network of IP MPLS of Taskom Ltd includes more than 100 nodes equipped with the equipment Cisco. Commissioning of schemes of reservation at each level took no more than two weeks from the moment of emergence of the technical concept.

Solutions of Cisco were allowed the company to propose Task to clients high-speed Internet access and also to ogranizovat virtual private networks (VPN) conforming to increased requirements to the capacity of channels and safety of data transmission. In particular, thanks to Cisco technologies, the company Task is ready to construct the VPN L2 channels which are not tied to specific IP networks and allowing to be connected to corporate network, being outside office.

For ensuring high-speed Internet access all number of lines of the equipment Cisco – from Access Level to Aggregation/Core is used that guarantees performance, scalability and speed of deployment of a communication channel. The models Access Nodes, Distribution Nodes, Edge Node, Core/Aggregation Nodes are used for optimization of traffic.

The cascade of Edge Nodes devices is reserved and automatically reacts to all types of failures of network. As the component increasing fault tolerance of a system on one of terminal routers EOT (Emebedded OpenType) is used.

The technology of label switching of MPLS and the L2TPv3 and L2TPv3 + IRB Bridging protocols are applied to the organization of VPN L2 connections. The technology core of VPN L2 consists of Cisco 7600 routers which functionality allows to work more flexibly with client traffic and to follow wishes of clients regarding routing of packets.

Besides, upgrade of infrastructure gave to the company Task the chance to offer Cisco MPLS L3 VPN technology as the solution for the organization of virtual networks of the large corporate clients having a large number (more than 100) websites. For creation of VPN networks of the companies of medium and small business the operator mainly uses Cisco DMVPN technology. This technology differs in flexibility and gives the chance to quickly organize VPN in different situations and Wednesdays, including Internet channels of third-party operators. For those clients who need additional enciphering of traffic channels on technology IPSec VPN/DMVPN + IPSec will be organized.

As the logical platform in most cases Task uses EoMPLS and H-VPLS based on the equipment Core/Aggregation Nodes.

2012

JSC Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) through the subsidiary company JSC Moscow City Telephone Network (MCTN) purchased in the spring of 2012 100% of Taskom Ltd rendering services of fixed connection. Transaction amount was $38.3 million, at the same time after a year the seller of an asset - Bester Investments Ltd. (belongs to the EBRD and the related funds) will receive deferred payment in the amount of $6.9 million, on condition of accomplishment of a number of operational conditions. The net debt of Taskom makes $9.7 million, says MTS.

Financial performance of Taskom will be consolidated in financial statements of MTS since May 28, 2012.
