2021: Innopolis University receives 90 million rubles for the opening of a technology transfer center

Innopolis University received 90 million rubles for the opening of a technology transfer center. This was announced on October 25, 2021 by the press service of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov.

We are talking about the subsidy allocated to the university as the winner of the competition of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation within the framework of the federal project "Development of large-scale scientific and scientific-technological projects in priority research areas of the national project" Science and Universities. "

It is noted that Innopolis University was able to participate in the competition for the creation of the center due to the fact that since 2014 the department of intellectual property and technology transfer has been operating here. It is involved in identifying and protecting the results of intellectual activity, and also helps in their commercialization.

According to him, the work of the new center will be aimed at creating effective intellectual property management systems for other universities, as well as the commercial launch of its own developments at Innopolis University in the areas of unmanned vehicles, distributed registry systems, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, etc.

The Government of the Russian Federation allocated 3 billion rubles to create 35 technology transfer centers until 2024. Such a network of centers will create a technology transfer system for commercializing the results of 200-400 universities and scientific organizations. Among other things, the centers will become an element of the ecosystem of university technological entrepreneurship with the support of the Priority 2030 program[1]
