For March, 2015 the company is head enterprise of Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos) on implementation of the Federal space program in the field of technologies and also the member of International association of participants of space activity (MAKD).
History
1938: Creation of the company
1938 - on the basis of GSPI-7 (The state special design institute of the National commissariat of defense industry) for the purpose of mastering of production of large-caliber cartridges, equipment of the cartridge plants high-performance tools, the equipment and the equipment creates Central design bureau No. 40 (TsKB-40).
1939
1939 - for complex design of plants III of Head department of NKOP the State allied design institute No. 3 (GSPI-3) was organized.
1940
1940 - The resolution of Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and the Order of the National commissariat of arms of the USSR based on TsKB-40, GSPI-3 and technology Part GSPI-7 create GSPKI-40 - the State allied design institute No. 40. The institute performs technical assistance to the plants, develops and implements technology processes, the special equipment and automation equipment of cartridge, shooting and optical-mechanical productions and also begins serial production of new types of artillery arms and ammunition.
Years of the Great Patriotic War
1941
6/22/1941 – the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The institute renders complex technical assistance to the plants, develops production and masters new products, performs uninterrupted providing the front. The staff of Institute, without feeling sorry for forces, assumed the management of workshops, became to machines, providing accomplishment of production programs and plans.
1944
1944 – as special production base for production, testing and working off of laboratory installations, prototypes of the equipment and the industrial equipment the Moscow plant No. 44 is attached to Institute.
1945
1945 – according to the Order NKV USSR the Technical office of hard alloys is organized and transferred to structure of GSPKI-40.
Origin of research activity
1946
5/13/1946 - the Resolution of Council of Ministers of the USSR No. 1017-419 ss makes the historical decision on development in the country of reactive arms. Necessary government institutions, the design, research and production organizations for design, production and testing of rocketry are formed.
1946 - GSPKI-40 is transformed to Research Institute of Technology No. 40 (NITI-40). ss NITI-40 is involved by the resolution CM of the USSR of 5/13/1946 No. 1017-419 in drawing up and working off of technology for the A-4 (FAU-2) rocket. At the end of 1946 in NITI-40 the tungsten plant on the basis of the former artel of Moskhimredmetprom was organized. The plant is faced by a problem of production of experimental machines and the hard-alloy tool of drawings of Institute. From this point active formation and continuous growth of Institute as the powerful research technology center servicing begins: The ministry of arms (till 1951), the Ministry of defense industry (till 1957), the State Committee on the defense equipment (till 1965).
1947
Development of scientific and technology activity 1947 - NITI-40 is involved in development of technology for the first domestic ballistic missile. Performs works on process design and equipments on the R-1 rocket. The scientific and technical council (STC), in specialized departments of Institute and its branches - sections NTS will be organized.
1953
1953 - The order of CM of the USSR to NITI-40 assigns complex tasks in the field of the production technology of the systems of the radar and reactive equipment which successful solution led to creation of the Soviet rockets 8A11 and 8K75.
1957
1957 - the volume of research and development in the field of technology, equipment and the equipment for production of rocketry is about 70% of total amount of works. Essentially new equipment has the features and the specific requirements imposed to technology of its production.
1962
1962 - The resolution of the State committee on coordination of research works of CM of the USSR NITI-40 is defined by parent organization in the USSR in the development areas and applications of pulse loads in technology of mechanical engineering and metal working. The institute actively participates in development of the state development plans and implementations of these processes in mechanical engineering, carrying out research and ROC on creation of technology and the equipment of a pulse shaping.
1965
Development of structural divisions and branches 1965 - the Ministry of the general mechanical engineering of the USSR (MEGOHM) - parent organization on creation rocket both the missile and space equipment and to implementation of space flights is formed. NITI-40 is transferred to the MOM system.
1966
1966 - Order megohm of the USSR of 6:03 a.m. ss NITI-40 is appropriated to No. 109 the new name - the Research Institute of Technology of Mechanical Engineering (RITME). Development of technology processes, means of technology equipment and special technology equipment for production of parts of assembly units of products, formation of five-year plans of technological support of production is charged to institute. Orders MEGOHMS of the USSR for the solution of technology problems create NIITM branches in the cities: Voronezh, Izhevsk, Perm, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zlatoust, Leningrad (St. Petersburg), Omsk, Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk and also basic divisions at leading enterprises of the industry, including basic department at the Progress plant in Kuibyshev (Samara).
1975
1975 – there is a structural growth of Institute: branches, basic departments and laboratories are included. Afterwards some branches are selected in independent scientific research institutes.

1966
1966 - an award of the Labour Red Banner for merits in creation, production of the new equipment (rocket 8K63, 8K64, 8K65) and successful accomplishment of the plan of 1959-1965.
1975
1975 - The certificate of honor megohm of the USSR and the Central Committee of Labor union for merits in creation, production of the new equipment (rocket 8K63, 8K64, 8K65) and successful accomplishment of the plan of 1959-1965 and also the Certificate of honor for achievement of high rates in a socialist competition in honor of the XXV congress of the CPSU.
1976
1976 – the second award of the Labour Red Banner for mastering of production of new products (rockets 8K67, 8K84, 8K98 and others), task performance of the ninth five-years period, development and deployment of the new technology processes and the special equipment directed to increase in production efficiency and improvement of product quality.
1980
1980 - an award and the Diploma of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions for achievement of good results in the field of mechanization of handworks.
1983
1983 there is a rank "Model Organization of Moscow".
1983 - 1985
1983, 1985 - a rank "The winner in the All-Union socialist competition among head scientific research institutes and CB" with delivery of the passing Red Banner and the Diploma for successful task performance "The target comprehensive scientific and technical program on development and deployment of pulse loads in mechanical engineering".
For progress in creation and implementation of the new equipment employees NIITMA were awarded the order by 161 and 576 medals, including 7 Orders of Lenin, 5 awards of the October revolution, 48 awards of the Labour Red Banner, 2 Orders of Friendship of the people.
To scientists and engineering employees ranks of winners Lenin, Stalin and the State awards are awarded: RSFSR, USSR, Russian Federation and awards of Lenin Komsomol and also rank "Honored Mechanician", "Honored Inventor", "Honored Designer", "Honored Technologist", "Deserved Standartizator" of the USSR, RSFSR, etc. Many employees are awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals of VDNH and the All-Russia Exhibition Centre, are mentioned by gold and silver medals and diplomas of the international exhibitions.
Formation of Federal State Unitary Enterprise NPO Technomash
1990
1990 there is a NIITM parent organization, branches: The southern Ural (Zlatoust), the Tomsk (Tomsk), the Siberian (Krasnoyarsk), the Voronezh (Voronezh) and also Experimental plant (Lobnya of the Moscow region) will be transformed to "Technomash scientific and production association ("by NPO Technomash).
1991
1991 - The decree of the President establishes the Ministry of the industry of the Russian Federation with Department of the general mechanical engineering to which the subject of MEGOHM of the USSR is transferred.
1992
1992 - in RSFSR the law "About the Enterprises and Business Activity" is adopted. The order of the Ministry of the industry "NPO Technomash is renamed into the State enterprise "by NPO Technomash. The decree of the President "About a Management Structure of Space Activity in the Russian Federation" founds the Russian Space Agency (RSA). GP "NPO Technomash places under authority RKA.
1998
1998 - "NPO Technomash is renamed by the order of the CEO of RKA GP into Federal State Unitary Enterprise of Nauchno-proizvodstvennoye objedineniye Technomash (Federal State Unitary Enterprise NPO Technomash) with subordination of the Enterprise in 1999-2004 - to Russian Aviation and Space Agency, and since 2004 - to Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos).
Today Federal State Unitary Enterprise NPO Technomash — Parent Organization of Federal Space Agency (Roskosmos) on Technological Support of Creation of Products RKT. the Enterprise Takes Part in National, International and Perspective Space Programs and Projects, in Creation of World Famous Space-rocket Complexes, Such as Vostok, Space, Salute, Voskhod, World, Union, JSC "Proton", Frigate, Breeze, "Energia-Buran", "Union Apollo", Vega, Phobos, "ISS", Helios, Columbus, Intercosmos, Angara, Yamal, "KVRB". Now participates in the existing Federal target programs of Roskosmos and creation of products of type: "Russia M", Person, "MRKS-1TK", "MRKS-2", Angara, Union-2", "Fregat-SB", etc.
The enterprise performs activities for conversion of the defense technologies directed to problem solving of fuel and energy complex, chemical and metallurgical industry, ecology, transport, agro-industrial complex, medicine, light and processing industry, the construction industry, municipal economy. About 30 basic technologies for implementation in these industries are offered.
Federal State Unitary Enterprise NPO Technomash covers all main machine-building technologies: casting, processing by pressure; all types of dimensional processing, including mechanical, electrochemical, electrophysical; receiving weld and solder bonds; assembly; laser technologies; technologies of drawing coverings; methods and means of non-destructive testing, control of tightness; other types of tests and functional diagnosing of the complex technical systems; metrological support, standardization and certification of a quality management system. Conducts research works on creation of perspective technology processes, creates specialized technology equipment, devices and means of technology equipment in the directions: materials science, machine-building and instrument production, standardization and metrology.
