2023: Launch of an educational track based on the analytical platform Visiology

Ugra State University (SOUTH) announces the launch of an educational track based on the information and analytical platform Visiology. Visiology announced this on May 18, 2023. The university has already created a training laboratory for analysis and data processing, where passionate students can study in depth various scenarios for using the analytical platform and work with real cases. Thus, the university helps students gain advanced skills in the learning process and plans to meet the demand for professional analysts in nearby regions.

SOUTH is one of the main suppliers of qualified personnel for the development of the digital economy and automation of companies of various profiles in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra. The course of business analytics occupies an important place in the educational programs of the university and has recently been in great demand among students. Within the framework of the laboratory, it is planned to highlight three areas of this - data preparation, programming and data processing, data visualization.

Employers are showing a growing interest in analytics, and as a result, more students are seeking to get into BI profile training programmes. That is why, starting from the 2023/2024 academic year, we are launching an analytical track based on the Visiology platform, one of the most popular and most common BI platforms in the regions of Russia. With the support of the platform developer, we plan to annually produce data analysis and processing specialists, "said Olga Samarina, head of the engineering school of digital technologies SOUTH.

For May 2023, specialists are being trained in the SOUTH in two programs, which include the BI profile as an elective course - these are the 09.03.01 "Informatics and Computer Engineering" and the 09.03.04 "Software Engineering." These areas receive more than 60 school graduates annually. The ability to select a track for data analysis within the framework of training in these programs allows students to take a professional retraining program directly during training in the main profile and apply for analyst vacancies in Russian companies.

YUGE's "Data Analysis" track implies more than 500 training hours and includes both BI technologies and programming languages for data analysis directly, as well as advanced practices for graphical visualization of research and projects. The development of programs with the introduction of Visiology software into the educational process has already begun by university specialists based on the methodological materials and recommendations of Visiology.
