The company "Vaviot" was created at the end of 2016 by separating from the company "Strizh Telematics." The reason for the division of Strizh, founded in 2010, was the disagreement over the development strategy between Andrei Bakumeno and Yevgeny Akhmadishin, who owned 55% of the company in total, and its CEO Andrei Sinitsyn. Ahmadishin became the head of Vaviot.
In Russia, the largest non-cellular LPWAN networks are, according to late 2016 and early 2017, Network 868 and EveryNet, based on LoRaWAN technology, as well as Strizh Telematics, which uses its own technology. According to a company representative, VAVIOT has its own technology, called NB-Fi, open and undergoing standardization in Rosstadndart.
Companies are engaged in similar activities - the development of LPWAN solutions and the creation of an LPWAN network.

LPWAN network
Vaviot not only develops the LPWAN network, but also produces the sensors themselves - for example, smart water meters (ASCUE) connected to the wireless network and transmitting readings over it. Systems for housing and communal services inherited the experience of developing systems for controlling road flow created by Strizha in 2011. In 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Moscow government to familiarize itself with the achievements of Strizha in the field of housing and communal services.
VAVIOT is a wireless communication technology for the Internet of Things using the energy efficient LPWAN (Low-power Wide-area Network) approach. Great for transmitting a small amount of data - up to 255 bytes, from hundreds of thousands of different sensors over a distance of 50 km over a radio channel.
