Leaving of SaaS strategist SAP inspires in analysts concern. In the company regret for the events, but are sure of success of further implementation of the selected strategy.

John Wookey, the vice president of SAP responsible for development of strategy of SaaS for large enterprises, leaves a position after two and a half years of work. Before arrival of the successor Peter Lorenz will exercise control over division of development of SaaS for large enterprises, the press secretary of the company Jim Dever said.

Dever reported that Vuki's leaving is caused by the personal reasons: "Actually he is going to spend some time with the family and to find out that he wants to do next".

Its leaving will not change orientation of the company to further development of software products "on demand" at all, Dever added.

Vuki came to the company in November, 2008, after work for the competitor - Oracle where he was one of the first heads of the long born Fusion Applications. In Vuki's SAP worked on a number of the applications of SaaS intended as the Business Suite expansions, a flagship product of the company.

One of the first software packages created by the Vuki command - Sales on Demand, a CRM applicaiton.

Its leaving "considerable loss for SAP" as he gathered a team of stars, including former employees of Oracle and Salesforce.com, the analyst Ray Wang, the CEO of Constellation Research says. Vuki also "correctly compiled understanding of official authority for advance", Wang added.

According to some analysts, Vuki entered the five of the most important people in the company. He has many creative ideas, but its work was not completed and it inspires a certain concern.

Jon Reed, the independent analyst, considers that though SaaS strategy of SAP concerning large enterprises, will not generate the significant amount of income this year he, nevertheless, has key value for positioning of the company as the supplier living not only due to maintenance of income and hopes for the best.

Along with this strategy of SAP sells Business ByDesign - ERP - "on demand", focused on mid-size companies and divisions of large enterprises. Applications for large enterprises are created on the basis of a reference platform of ByDesign which was earlier intending for other set of technologies now.
