Biography
Born in 1971 in Moscow.
From 1987 to 1988 he worked as a laboratory assistant at the Institute of Metallurgy of the USSR Academy of Sciences. A.A Baykov.
In 1993 he graduated from the Institute of Cryptography of Communications and Informatics of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the Russian Federation (now the Academy of the FSB of Russia). He was awarded the qualification "Engineer-mathematician" with a degree in Applied Mathematics.
In 1993-2021 he served in the military.
He was the first deputy chief, acting head of the 8th FSB Center (FSB Information Protection and Special Communications Center), which, among other things, issues certificates of compliance of products and solutions in the field of information security with the requirements of the FSB.
Since 2017, he has been President of the Academy of Cryptography of the Russian Federation.
Since 2021 - Member of the Supervisory Board of the Voskhod Research Institute.
He is a doctor of physical and mathematical sciences.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development
On April 12, 2021, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree appointing Alexander Shoitov to the post of Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. The Ministry of Digital Science explained that in this post he will be responsible for the formation of state policy and the implementation of the functions of the ministry in the field of information security, the creation and implementation of computer and telecommunication equipment for state needs, as well as software with a sufficient level of information security and taking into account the innovative development of the industry.
Also, the deputy head of the Ministry of Digital Science of Russia will oversee the federal project "Information Security" of the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation."
Before Shoitov's appointment, another Deputy Minister of Digital Development Oleg Ivanov was the head of the federal project "Information Security."
