Biography

Oleg Ivanov was born on August 11, 1965 in the city of Polotsk, Vitebsk region.

In 1987 he graduated from the Voronezh Higher Military Engineering School of Radio Electronics.

In 1997 he graduated with honors from the Military Academy. M.V. Frunze.

In 2006, he graduated with honors and a gold medal from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with a degree in military and state administration.

From 1982 to 2011 served in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in various command and staff positions.

Since September 27, 2011, he served as deputy head of Roskomnadzor.

In the spring of 2012, he temporarily acted as head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media.

2021

Dismissal from the post of deputy minister

On May 11, 2021, by government order, Oleg Ivanov was relieved of his post as Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media. The Ministry of Digital Development told TAdviser that their department will create a scientific and technical center on the basis of FSUE NIIR, which will include other subordinate institutions of the ministry engaged in the research and production of electronic equipment. Oleg Ivanov will head this NTC.

Oleg Ivanov's successor in Ministry of Digital Development was Dmitry Kim, who was appointed Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media on the same day.
