Bocharov Andrei Ivanovich - Governor of the Volgograd Region.
Biography
Andrei was born on October 14, 1969 in the city of Barnaul, Altai Territory.
In 1987 he graduated from the Moscow Suvorov Military School.
In 1991, Bocharov graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School, served in the airborne troops.
July 20, 1996 awarded the title of Hero of Russia for the courage and heroism shown.
In December 1998, Andrei was elected chairman of the Council of the Union of Heroes of Russia.
Since January 2005, he worked as deputy governor of the Bryansk region.
In 2007 he was elected to the State Duma.
Since October 2012, he has been working as the chief federal inspector of the Bryansk region.
January 16, 2013 was elected head of the organizing committee for the constituent congress of the ONF.
From June 2013 to April 2014 - Head of the Executive Committee of the All-Russian Popular Front.
2014: Governor of Volgograd Oblast
On April 2, 2014, by Decree of the President of Russia, he was appointed Acting Governor of the Volgograd Region.
According to the results of a single voting day on September 14, 2014, he won 88.49% of the vote. He took office on September 24, 2014.
2023: House arson organiser gets 20 years of strict security
On March 22, 2023, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced the former head of the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Volgograd Region, Mikhail Muzraev, to 20 years in a maximum security colony on charges of setting fire to the house of the head of the Volgograd Region, Andrei Bocharov, qualified as a terrorist attack.
