2024: Appointment as Head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy
On December 9, 2024, it became known that Deputy Sergei Boyarsky (United Russia) may take the post of chairman of the Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications. The corresponding proposal is made by the State Duma Commission on Regulations.
The post of head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy became vacant after the appointment of Alexander Khinshtein as Acting Governor of the Kursk Region. As of the beginning of December 2024, Boyarsky is the first deputy chairman of the named committee, as well as Anton Tkachev and Alexander Yushchenko.
The Commission proposes to decide on the replacement of the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications S. M. Boyarsky as Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, - quotes TASS an excerpt from the proposal of the State Duma Commission on Regulations. |
As the Kommersant newspaper notes, referring to data received from informed sources, in fact Boyarsky was approved in a new position in the status of acting. This is a rather rare case for the State Duma, since it usually dispenses with such intermediate solutions. But in this case, it is necessary, since the head of the information policy committee has three first deputies - therefore, "it is not clear which of them should act as chairman."
It is also said that United Russia intends to retain the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, and therefore its faction must first officially propose a new candidacy, and after that it will be approved at a plenary meeting. On the other hand, the committee is claimed by "Fair Russia - For the Truth."[1]
