Was born on January 22, 1956 in Leningrad (since 1991 - St. Petersburg.

In 1979 graduated from sanitary and hygienic faculty of 1 Moscow medical institute of I.M. Sechenov (since 2010 - I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (the First MGMU)).

In 1979 - 1982 studied in full-time postgraduate study of Institute of biophysics of the Ministry of Health of the USSR (since 2012 - the State scientific center of the Russian Federation - the Federal medical biophysical center of A.I. Burnazyan (Federal State Budgetary Institution GNTs FMBTs)). Candidate of medical sciences.
