2025: Sentence - 5 years in prison for extortion from a Rostec employee Brovko

At the end of April 2025, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow sentenced the Tyumen media manager and PR specialist Stanislav Deineko. He received five years in prison for extorting money from a Rostec employee Vasily Brovko.

According to the Kommersant newspaper, the criminal case was initiated on the basis of the testimony of the creator and administrator of the Kremlin Mom channel Sergei Sadovod, who was previously convicted of extortion from Brovko. According to the investigation, Deineko in 2021-2022 demanded funds from Brovko for the removal of negative posts and the non-placement of unreliable and defamatory information in the future. In particular, it was about establishing a "block for negatives" in a number of Telegram channels, including Nebrekhnya and the Provisional Government.

Deineko initially denied guilt, but during the investigation he confessed and concluded a pre-trial cooperation agreement with the prosecutor's office. As a result, the materials against him were separated into a separate proceeding from a larger extortion case for a total of more than 20 million rubles from Brovko, the general director of Rosseti PJSC Andrei Ryumin and the founder of YotaAlbert Avdolyan.

Deineko was charged with crimes under Part 3 of Art. 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (extortion committed by an organized group or in order to obtain property on an especially large scale), as well as part 5 of Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (libel). Acts under the first of these paragraphs are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 7 to 15 years with a fine of up to 1 million rubles, according to the second - imprisonment for up to five years. Taking into account the admission of guilt and the conclusion of a pre-trial agreement, Deineko received five years in a maximum security colony. His lawyer Elena Fedulova declined to comment on the verdict.[1]
