Biography

2008: Departure from the job of the head of VMware

On July 8, 2008 the Board of Directors of VMware announced leaving of Diane Greene, one of founders of this company, in resignation from posts of the president and the CEO. And Paul Maritz directing at that time EMC Cloud Division was appointed to its place.

2015: The founder of VMware headed cloud business of Google

On November 19, 2015 the Google corporation entering into Alphabet holding announced creation of uniform cloud division which was headed one of founders of VMware by Diana Green. Reorganization of cloud business of Google it is announced in the blog of the American company.

Diana Green is appointed the senior vice president of Google and the head of division into which all cloud services and solutions of Internet giant, including Google for Work, Google Cloud Platform and Google Apps entered.

Diana Green became the head of the joint cloud business of Google

Together with Diana Green the command of the startup of Bebop Technologies advancing the platform which facilitates development and support of the corporate software based by it will pass into Google. Close the deal about which cost decided not to tell, it is planned until the end of 2015.

According to the analyst of Monness, Crespi, Hardt, & Co. James Cakmak, consolidation of cloud business of Google confirms serious intentions of the company in relation to this market and desire not to concede to competitors of Amazon and Microsoft.

"Now only a small part of data in the world is stored in a cloud, and most the companies and applications are still not cloud, – the CEO of Google Sundar Pichai wrote on November 19, 2015 in the blog. — It is very important and fast-growing area for Google, and we invest in its future".

According to the senior vice president for technical architecture of Google Urs Hölzle, in the next five years the company will earn more from cloud computing, than from advertizing.[1]
