Frolova began her career at AvtoVAZ, where she went from an ordinary employee to the head of the department. Then she moved to Sollers, in which she held senior positions in the financial block. Acting Finance Director of the joint venture Sollers and Fiat, and subsequently became Deputy Finance Director and member of the Board of Ford Sollers Holding. In 2016, Frolova returned to AvtoVAZ, taking the post of vice president of the joint management team of Renault and AvtoVAZ. Later she held the positions of financial director of the Sollers group, general director of the joint venture Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus and was a member of the board of directors of Sollers. Since 2023, she worked as a director for passenger cars of PJSC KamAZ and was a member of the board of directors of the Moskvich AO MAZ.

2025: Appointment as General Director of Moskvich Automobile Plant

On November 8, 2025, Elena Frolova was appointed to the post of general director of the Moskvich automobile plant. In this position, she replaced Hans-Peter Moser, who headed the enterprise since June 2023.
