2011: Branch of Greenatom JSC in Sarov
Evgeny Garanin has been working in the nuclear industry since 2011, began as director of the branch of Greenatom JSC in the city of Sarov. At that time, the enterprise had ambitious tasks - in 4 years it was necessary to automate almost all the processes of the customer, the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF). It was about document management at the enterprise, design and technological preparation of production, resource management, production, life cycle of products, etc., and taking into account the specifics of the enterprise, special requirements were imposed on issues of information security, solution performance and technological independence.
In a short time, Evgeny Garanin assembled a team that included highly qualified specialists from different cities of Russia with the necessary specialized experience. Communications were established between the employees of the branch and the project teams of the customer. For three and a half years, a new team, together with employees of FSUE RFNC-VNIIEF and specialized Russian IT companies in the nuclear weapons complex, created an appropriate solution.
After the completion of the program, the branch in Sarov began to support and develop ready-made digital solutions, and Evgeny Garanin began to organize their replication at other enterprises of the nuclear weapons complex.
2017: Work in the fuel company "TVEL"
Since April 2017, Evgeny has been managing the IT function at the TVEL Fuel Company - at the beginning as Director of the Information Technology Department of TVEL JSC, and since September 2019 - as Director for Digitalization of the Fuel Company. The key task facing Evgeny was to increase the competitiveness of the division's products through intensive digitalization and the introduction of advanced IT solutions and technologies for automating production, support and management processes in the company.
By July 2018, the Fuel Company's digitalization strategy and program were developed and approved, and by April 2019, the company's digital product development strategy and program. In one year, Eugene reorganized the IT function, as a result of which he managed to shift the focus from solving the operational tasks of maintaining and operating IT systems to solving the problems of developing IT and introducing new technologies. Before Yevgeny joined the company, on average, no more than 8 large IT projects of the divisional level were implemented per year, in 2018 their number increased to 15, in 2019 - to 37, and this was done without increasing the total number of employees of the IT function of the division.
As of February 2022, the Fuel Company is completing the implementation of the first wave of digitalization projects; separate solutions created in the division - such as, for example, the application of artificial intelligence technologies, the recognition of optical information and the automation of user activity in routine processes - are of interest both for replication in the industry and for applications outside it.
Since mid-2019, Yevgeny Garanin has been in the area of increased attention to the task of import substitution, within which the Fuel Company needs to minimize the share of used IT solutions of foreign origin in a very short time with minimal losses in quality, functionality and reliability.
In 2021, a new Strategy for the digitalization of the fuel company TVEL until 2030 was approved. Evgeny's team managed to connect the projects of the new strategy with the business strategies of the Fuel Division. Now, when a particular digital project is planned or implemented, there is always an understanding of how it will affect the achievement of specific business goals of the Fuel Company.
